If you are familiar with the Disney Channel’s world, then you should have heard about 18 year-old actress Kayla Rose Maisonet. Since 2016, the native of New York has been starring in the Disney’s sitcom Stuck in the Middle as Georgie Diaz which also appeared to be her first main role, even though her career started earlier in kids programs including Good Luck Charlie or Dog with a Blog.
I always want to be respectful but also be a real person
Before becoming a Californian girl, Kayla spent her early life on the East Coast, between New Jersey and New York. As she has always loved singing and dancing, she feels like she was drawn to the creative world from the very beginning. ‘‘I knew I wanted to do something huge: acting, dancing, singing, whatever… It was for me!’’
Fear will hold you back and can affect how you perform
Deeply interested in performing, Kayla was brought up in a dance company, and felt the connection with the artistic life that she was decided to take on. ‘‘One day, we decided to send headshots to managers and agents in New York. I went on my first audition, and I booked it. I loved working on commercials and in theater, so I thought I would love working in film and TV too,’’ Kayla says.
